The MCHS boys tennis team has gotten off to a great start. They are currently 7-0 and 3-0 in the district.
On March 10, they defeated Gallatin Highschool, 9-0. March 11, they played Portland Highschool at home, winning 6-0. March 14, was another home match, and the first District match of the year. The boys defeated Cannon county 4-3. On March 18, the team travelled to Dekalb County for their second district match. They brought home the victory with 4-3. March 19, saw the boys’ tennis team taking on Livingston academy at home. After loosing to them twice last year, the boys finally got a big victory over Livingston with a score of 7-0. March 20, most of the freshmen boys stepped up against Clay County winning with 6-1. On March 21, the boys travelled to Wilson Central bringing home their latest victory at 9-0.
The rankings for the individuals are John Griffith 8-2, Justin Frasier 9-3, Dalton McCathran 12-0, Jacob Harbin 12-0, Austin Smith 11-1, Ethan Reid 11-1, Joey Roberts 4-3, Grant Gammons 2-1, Jacob Sewell 0-2, Scott Costner 1-2
The boys continue with play on March 25 against East Robertson Highschool at home and travel to Pope John Paul II on March 26.
