The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale was the brain-child of entrepreneur Christy Jo Stone. “In 2009, after twisting a few arms, I began hosting a glorified yard sale in my backyard with a small group of girls who have since become my best friends,” said Stone. They quickly outgrew her backyard space, so in the spring of 2011 they moved the sale to her family’s farm in Hartsville, TN. Starlite Farm is approximately 200 acres and is nestled in the rolling hills of Trousdale County right on the Cumberland River.
The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale has become the main event on this farm. It is an indie arts and design type outdoor marketplace. Donoho said, “I put my heart and soul into this show and look forward to each one! I strive to find artisans who have a creative and unique style and are passionate about what they do.” Thursday through Saturday, September 4 -6, vendors Plain Penny, Flume Jewelry, Tulip Grove Farm, and Donegan Chandlery among others will be selling their wares. Thursday night admission is $10 for the Sneak Peak, with live music and complimentary wine and cupcakes. Friday and Saturday admission is $5, kids 12-under are free. There will be live music on Saturday as well. For more information, see www.thestrawberrypatchtn.com.
