At last week’s Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian Steve Jones, Director, Macon County “E-911”, gave an overview of the Disaster Stimulus Grant that Macon County has received. The grant will pay for, among other things, 14 additional emergency warning sirens, a staging facility, three new emergency services communication towers, a rescue truck for West Macon County and a centralized 3,000 gallon fire tanker truck to be used throughout the county.

The Rotary club is a service organization devoted to various projects supporting the community-at-large, including Makin’ Macon Fit, the Macon County 3rd Graders Dictionary Initiative, Boy Scouts, the Macon County High School Interact Club and the Junior High Interact Club, as well as scholarships. For more information on your local club you can call president Pete Williston at 615-688-9747. Like ‘Rotary Club of Lafayette, TN’ on Facebook.
