The stars were shining bright as the Lafayette Lions Club held its 3rd annual Youth Talent Show last Saturday, April 12, at the Macon County Jr. High School. A total of 15 various acts were performed for a crowd. Ushers for the evening show included members of the Macon County High School Leo Club and the Community Leo Club. Mrs. Barbara Blankenship, master of ceremony, opened the show by thanking several members and businesses of the community.


The Lafayette Lions Club expressed their thanks to the following: Mr. George Ridenour (sound system), Mr. David Kempf (video), The Flower and Gift Shoppe for the decorations (in Memory of Lion Anna Dean Carter), Mr. B.J. West (principal of MCJHS, Thomas Massey (lights), Advertisements-Put it in Print, Citizens Bank, Macon Bank and Trust, WEEN Radio, North Central Telephone Cooperative, Macon County Times, and Macon County Chronicle, Macon County High School Leo Club and Community Leo Club, and especially all the talented and great performers.


The Lafayette Lions Clubs has several upcoming events. The tournament of Lemons Pageant will be held on May 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Macon County High School Auditorium. The Lions Club also hosts the concessions at the Westmoreland Saddle Club every Friday night beginning April 18 running until September.
