Last week, the staff at Macon County Junior High handed out awards to students for making gains on the Discovery Education Assessment. Every student that made a gain on one or more portions of the assessment received a Certificate of Achievement. Each student had the opportunity to make a gain(s) in either Language Arts, Math, or Science. In addition, the student with the biggest gain in each grade’s tested subjects received a plaque for their efforts.
There were some very large gains made by the students of MCJH—including a student who scored Advanced on the first test and still made a 299 point gain on the second test. In addition, the students gave their teachers a well-deserved standing ovation for helping them to make these gains. The students, and their teachers, put in a lot of time and effort into this achievement. Macon County Junior High is very proud of their accomplishments.
