Frank Rothermel, District Governor for District 6780 of Rotary, spoke to the Lafayette Rotary Club at last week’s meeting concerning the Rotary Foundation’s fundraising efforts. Rothermel cited past accomplishments, plus the hopes and plans for the future of Rotary. The overall Rotarian theme is to help people around the world and give service, he said.
Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons also spoke to the club on several topics, including his efforts to modify proposed state legislation on limiting the sale of pseudoephedrine, the primary ingredient for making methamphetamine, to 2.4g per month, in order to help curtail the manufacture of the illegal drug. Gammons urged the audience to contact their state legislators in support of this kind of legislation.
