Macon Singers present Christmas concert

The Macon Singers, sponsored by the Macon County Arts Council, presented their 4th annual Christmas Program on Friday, December 6. Led by Director Eric Hinson and accompanied by Marcia Briggie and Wynona Clayborne, the group sang classic Christmas favorites such as Carol of the Bells and Do You Hear What I Hear? as well as less familiar tunes such as The Twelve Groovy Days of Christmas and The Twelve Days After Christmas.
The current choir consists of the following singers: Marcia Briggie, Wynona Clayborne, Rebecca Cutrell, Karen Davis, Anita Gregory, Linda Kirby, May Mitchell, Gerri Tranthem, Rita Watson, Penney Whittemore, Karen Burrow, Gay Chamberlain, Margaret Cook, Edna Davis, Esther Langford, Linda Lucas, Mel Perdue, Matthew Deck, Randy East, Chuck Gase, Lloyd Briggie, Terry Gillim, Rusty Kirby, and Robert Lucas.
First Baptist Church, Lafayette lent the group use of their facilities for practices and the show itself. Those interested in joining the Macon Singers can contact Hinson at 615-370-8370.
