The Macon County High School Football Team hosted a Youth Football Camp on July 11 and 12, 2014. Kids from 6-11 got the chance to learn the fundamentals of the game and work with the high school football coaches and players. Head Coach Nathan Wilson said, “We’re fortunate to have a lot of really good kids in our program. They set a good example for the younger kids, though many of them don’t understand how much they mean to the younger kids.”

Participants in the camp came from several counties in Tennessee. They were divided by age and size, paired with members of the high school football team for practice and drilled by the coaches to ensure that they learned the fundamentals. “This camp is a good opportunity for the young kids to work with the high school kids,” Coach Wilson said. “They’ll get to see them play on Friday nights and have a better understanding of the game.”
