Macon County Jr. High School recently hosted an essay contest. The students were asked to write an essay about the reason for “No Shave November,” citing evidence and giving at least two text sources.

“The top 5 essays were going to be rewarded with free movie passes,” said Principal B.J. West. “We had 20 students turn in essays yesterday. The essays were so good, in fact, that I could only pick the top 6 for the reward.”

Participants were: Leah Sherwin, Syanna Smith, Seth Carlisle, Indya Smith, Lyndon Hackert, Destiney Summers, Cole Carnahan, Shayla Ochoa, Owen Goodman, Brooklyn Driver, Cidney Woodard, Tyler Barnes, Makayla Carter, Courtney Wright, Maggie Davis, Sabrina Linville, Haley Daugherty, Sara Coulter, and Jacob Johns.
