A young Red Boiling Springs man was seriously injured in a car vs. tree crash on Monday afternoon. Eddie Alexander, age 19, was driving his 1994 Ford F-150 east on Winklers Road when the accident occurred.
Trooper Tracy Donoho, who took the report, said that Alexander lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line, driving through a driveway and yard to strike a tree at 436 Winklers Lane. The vehicle struck the tree with force, swinging around on impact and coming to rest facing the opposite way of entry into the yard.
First responders thought that Alexander had been ejected, because he was found on the ground near the driver’s side of the car, but it was later ascertained that he was probably not. Donoho said that Alexander was conscious, but had trouble communicating with emergency responders.
Air Evac and Life Flight both declined the call for weather reasons, so Alexander was transported by ground to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
