The RBS Thrift Store was broken into on Saturday morning, August 2 at approximately 2 a.m. A suspect was caught on video surveillance carrying a TV, high priced shoes, new lighters and some tools out of the store.
According to the business owner Tonya Smith, about $2,000 worth of damages were done to the property and $3 worth of change was stolen from the cash register. Surveillance photos show a man about 5 ft. 5 in. and 120 pounds, wearing camouflage shorts and a black shirt around his head. He also was apparently wearing black socks and sandals. The thrift store is located at 224 Market St. in Red Boiling Springs.
Officer Woodard of the RBS Police Department said the suspect entered through the laundry mat next door, cut power and climbed over to the Thrift Store. The suspect, a juvenile, has already been caught and charges are pending.
