A large business-grade shed in Red Boiling Springs was completely lost to fire during the early morning hours on Thursday.

The Red Boiling Springs Fire Department was called to 4300 Bethany Road at about 3:00 a.m. This is also the residence of owner Tim Ferguson, who kept several vehicles and quite a bit of other materials in the 40 ft by 160 ft structure.

Upon arrival, the fire department found the structure to be totally involved. It was a total loss. RBS Fire Chief Randy Hagan estimated the value of destroyed building and materials at $150,000. Nine members of the RBS Fire Department responded to the scene, and in addition to utilizing the new fire truck, they requested a tanker unit from the Lafayette Fire Department. Macon County EMS and the Macon County Sheriff Department also responded to the scene.
