A couple was arrested during a traffic stop Friday, when Trooper Johnny Rodgers discovered drug paraphernalia and large sums of cash in their vehicle.


Michael David Parker Jr. was originally pulled over for failing to stop at the stop sign at Ellington Drive and Church Street in Macon County. Trooper Rodgers stated in the affidavit, “Parker was nervous and had bloodshot, watery eyes. I asked if he had anything illegal in the vehicle and he stated he did not. I asked for consent to search and he gave consent.”


Seven hypodermic needles were found in the overhead upholstery of the vehicle. $4,320.00 was found hidden under a portable center console. $2,300.00 was found in Parker’s wallet. A portable torch, hot packets, and two car batteries were found in the vehicle. Parker was arrested for promotion of methamphetamine production and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Teresa Holland was the passenger in the vehicle. Two meth pipes were found in her purse. A small clear plastic bag was also found in the purse with meth residue in it. She was also arrested and transported to the Macon County Justice Center.


Michael D. Parker Jr, age 38, of 19 Drury Ridge Rd, Lafayette, was arrested on April 18 and charged with promotion of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date was set for July 9, and he was assigned $15,000 bond.


Teresa Bennette Holland, age 30, of 3924 Hwy 52 West, Lafayette, was arrested April 18 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Her court date was set for July 9, and she was assigned $5,000 bond.
