The Lafayette Housing Authority Board of Commissioners held a properly advertised special called meeting on Tuesday, March 4.

During this meeting, they voted to uphold their previous decision to dismiss Jon Wells, former Executive Director. His letter of resignation, according to documented meeting minutes, was filed, “but note that the Board of Commissioners did not accept said letter due to the fact that Mr. Wells was dismissed from his position prior to this resignation.”

Lisa Gentry, former Leasing and Occupancy Manager at the Housing Authority, was named the new Full Time Executive Director during this meeting, as well as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Commissioners. She will receive the same salary as the former Executive Director.

Crystal Carver, the other member of the office staff at the Housing Authority, was appointed Full Time Leasing and Occupancy Manager.

The LHA Board also voted to increase meeting frequency, on the recommendation of HUD, to once a month. The meetings will be held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public.
