The Macon County School System is adopting Social Studies textbooks to be used beginning with the 2014-15 school year. The adoption cycle is for a 6-year period. Textbook samples are at the individual schools and are open for public viewing prior to final adoption. The samples can be viewed through February 28th. The majority of the samples sent to our county are in the areas of middle grades through high school. Please contact the school and set up an appointment if you would like to view the samples.


The textbook committee members are as follows: Fairlane Elementary School – Karla Driver; Central Elementary School – Janie Simons; Lafayette Elementary School – Kathy Woods; Macon County Jr. High School – Justin Wezet; Red Boiling Springs Elementary School – Jeff Blakely; Westside Elementary School – Tam Budge; Red Boiling Springs School – Don Jones; and Macon County High School – Carol Shrum.
