A woman was airlifted to Vanderbilt Friday morning after flipping her car on New Harmony Road.

The woman, 56-year-old Delilah Cross of Lafayette, was traveling south on the roadway in the rain when the accident occurred. At about 8:00 a.m., as she navigated a curve and the roadway was slick due to rain, according to THP Trooper Johnny Rodgers’ report.

She lost control of the vehicle in the curve and ran off the left side of the roadway. Her 2007 Pontiac Vibe rolled over into a ditch and came to rest in the yard of address 1885 New Harmony.

Cross was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Responding to the scene was the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Rescue, Macon County EMS, and the Macon County Sheriff Department.

Cross was listed in stable condition on Monday, July 21.
