At last week’s Rotary Club meeting, District Governor Fred Heitman spoke on April being Rotary Magazine Month, and espoused the benefits of keeping informed with the monthly magazine put out by Rotary International.

Heitman also complemented the club on the plethora of awards it received at the recent District Conference, which included: Eradicator, Globe Award, STAR Club, Reach Award, Presidential Citation, District Governor Citation, 1st place Lacy-Bomar Award for Vocational Service, 2nd place Lacy-Bomar Award for International Service & 3rd place Lacy-Bomar Award for Youth Service. Heitman also presented Rotarians Amy Phelps and Nancy White their pins for becoming Paul Harris Fellows.

The Rotary club is a service organization devoted to various projects supporting the community-at-large, including Makin’ Macon Fit, the Macon County 3rd Graders Dictionary Initiative, Boy Scouts, the Macon County High School Interact Club and the Junior High Interact Club, as well as scholarships.
