Bray’s Shoes donated hundreds of shoes to the Macon County Backpack Program recently when they closed their doors. Coordinated School Health hosted a four day shoe sale, which brought in about $4,500 for the Backpack Program. The sale, which was held at the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency in Lafayette, was overseen by Jacky Sircy and Melissa Shrum.

“Thank you thank you thank you Charles Bray! If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have had the shoes,” said Shrum. “He has helped the backpack program and lots of kids in Macon County,” added Sircy.

After the sale, about 200-250 pairs were given to children in the Backpack and Angel Tree programs, and the rest will now be sent to Macon County Schools to keep onhand for emergencies and children in need. “Coordinated School Health is very thankful for any and all donations,” added Sircy.
