ALTON — Someone, possibility with prom or wedding plans, made off with a tuxedo jacket that he or she pulled off a store mannequin Feb. 8.
An employee of Savvi Formalwear, 212 Alton Square, told police she was in the back room when she heard an entrance alarm indicating someone had gone into or exited the shop at 7:40 p.m. The woman said she then went out into the display area of the store but saw no one. The nearby exterior doors to the shopping center, though, were closing, an Alton police report says.
The employee said she then noticed that the black, Michael Kors jacket worth $175, was missing from a mannequin.
ALTON — Curtis McTizic, 46, of the 600 block of East Ninth Street, Alton, was charged Monday with attempted burglary.
He allegedly kicked the door at the Cowboy Market, 835, Central Ave., Alton, on Saturday in an attempt to enter the building.
Bail was set at $75,000.
COTTAGE HILLS — Chad A. Dickerson, 23, of Renken Road in Moro was charged in Madison County Circuit Court Tuesday with felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of cannabis, according to Madison County Sheriff Robert J. Hertz.
On Feb. 10 a Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle Chad Dickerson was operating in Cottage Hills for registration related offenses. As Dickerson was on parole at the time of the stop, his vehicle was searched and he was allegedly found to be in possession of approximately 14 grams of cannabis.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of an unlawful possessed alprazolam tablet.
Bond was set at $15,000.00.
GODFREY — Brandon M. Wittman, 32, and Melissa A. Wittman, 46, both of Brighton were charged in Madison County Circuit Court Tuesday.
A vehicle Brandon M. Wittman was operating was stopped Feb. 10 on registration related offenses. Brandon M. Wittman was subsequently taken into custody for driving on a revoked Illinois license. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a bag of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The methamphetamine was ultimately linked to the passenger of the vehicle, who was identified as Melissa Wittman.
Brandon Wittman was charged Tuesday with a felony charge of driving while license revoked. Melissa Wittman was charged with a felony charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Both defendants were also charged with a misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Brandon Wittman was issued citations for No Valid Registration and Uninsured Motor Vehicle
Brandon Wittman’s bond was set at $15,000 and Melissa Wittman’s bond was set at $20,000 on Melissa Wittman.
