At last week’s Rotary meeting David Flynn, Technology Director for the Macon County School District, spoke to about and demonstrated for club members the 3D printing process, and how it has grown as an industry over the past almost three decades. Technically known as additive manufacturing (AM), the process can build anything from prosthetic limbs to automobiles to concrete homes. It has grown to a 5 billion dollar industry and is expected to be over 10 billion by the year 2020.
