Lafayette Elementary School held a nicotine-free pledge event on Monday, March 18 where students learned about the dangers of nicotine and pledged to remain nicotine-free. Teachers and students alike also learned the dangers of nicotine and vaping.
Red Boiling Springs Jr. High holds a Guinness Book of World Records record-breaking attempt last Friday as students and teachers were on hand for hours of fun and teamwork.

Just outside of the city limits of Red Boiling Springs, in the northeastern region of Macon County, lies a picturesque landscape known as the Long Hungry Creek farm. Jeff Poppen, or as many have come to know him, the “Barefoot Farmer” owns the farm, and has been there for decades.
Macon County Director of Schools Shawn Carter recently initiated inspections of school bleachers, and the Macon County School Board has requested experts to assess them.

Rising country music artist Kevin Palmer, his manager and crew came to Macon County March 5 for an overnight stay at the Thomas House. Their goal was to shoot two music videos for his upcoming debut record.
The county committee of the whole met March 4 to discuss cost and building of the addition to the Macon County Jail, hearing from representatives of Cope Architecture and Blaine Construction.
Red Boiling Springs Elementary has a few things to be proud of this year, including being awarded for their students growth on Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) testing during the 2022-2023 school year.

A house in Webbtown was destroyed by fire Feb. 29. Lafayette Fire Department was quick to respond and had the fire under control very quickly.
Macon County native Kinsey Gregory has seen and accomplished a lot since graduating from Macon County High School in 2009. She has begun teaching fitness through her program named Dance 2 Fit with Kinsey.
The Macon County Prevention Coalition (MCPC) met Feb. 26, 2024 to discuss various things members were working on or planning on that will be beneficial for Macon County citizens.
Within the past few months two people have been featured in the Macon County Times that not only live here in Macon County, but have turned their love for music into a way to turn life around for themselves. It has been this love for music and faith in God that has transformed them both.
