2014 Cutest Kid receives prize money from Tri-County

Tri-County Executive Vice-President and General Manager Paul Thompson presented the winner of this year’s Cutest Kids Contest with her prize money on Thursday, July 24.This was the Times announcement, printed in early July when tallied votes showed now 9-month-old Alaya Hargrave as the winner.“After weeks of duking it out with their adorable little eyes, their overwhelming dimples, and their chubby little arms, the 2014 Cutest Kid has risen to the top and declared herself queen over all. There were 32 children entered into this year’s contest, but only one kid, in the end, could earn the votes to make them a winner.

Record-breaking numbers at early voting polls

So far, the number of early voters who have showed out at the polls is impressive. Including mail-in votes at the end of the day Tuesday, the totals are as follows: Before Friday: 30 votes. Friday (7-18): 413 votes. Saturday (7-19): 175 votes. Monday (7-21): 347 votes. Tuesday 7-22): 308 votes.This brings the total to 1273 early votes in just four days of open polls.

A woman was airlifted to Vanderbilt Friday morning after flipping her car on New Harmony Road.The woman, 56-year-old Delilah Cross of Lafayette, was traveling south on the roadway in the rain when the accident occurred.
