Ercie Marie Sisco

Ms. Ercie Marie Sisco was born on December 19, 1926, in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Jonas Spencer Sewell and Florence Jones Sewell. She was one of five children born to this union.

Ercie was a long time devoted member to the Lafayette Church of Christ. She was married to Mr. Idle Douglas Frye, who preceded her in death, and they were blessed with one son. Ercie then married Mr. Harlan Truman Sisco and they were also blessed with a son. Truman preceded her in death on December 10, 1988. Along with her parents and both husbands, Ercie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Sewell and Charles Sewell; and sisters, Dora Ray Sewell and Lillie Mae Scruggs.

Ms. Ercie was employed at the Silk Mill here in Lafayette, but worked the longest for the Macon County Sheriff’s Department. She worked through three different administrations and was the best cook the county ever employed. She was a twenty year member of the Lafayette Lioness Club and was well known for her famous hush puppies at the annual Lions/Lioness Club Fish Fry. On Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the age of ninety years and thirty days, Ercie Marie Sisco was called to her Heavenly Home.

She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother and Ercie will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Ms. Ercie Marie Sisco is survived by; Sons, Ray Frye and wife, Barbara, and Tommy Sisco. Grandchildren, Phillip Frye and wife, Katrina, Russell Frye and wife, Tammie, Brian Sisco, and Lisa Wright, and husband, Troy. Ten Great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Ercie Marie Sisco were conducted on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1 PM from the Lafayette Church of Christ with Don Craighead and Jerry Mercer officiating. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Phillip Frye, Russell Frye, Brian Sisco, Troy Wright, Gunnar Wright, Michael D. Frye, Donnie Gammons, and David Sewell. Honorary Pallbearers were, Keith Sewell, Jim Brasel, Michael S. Frye, Cole Frye, Bryce Nichols, and Nick Hill. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, in charge of arrangements. (615) 666-2189 or
