Tennessee Technology Center at Hartsville recently held a pinning ceremony for graduates of its Practical Nursing Program for 2009-10.

Six of the 22 class members receiving pins in the Aug. 19 ceremony at Trousdale County High School were from Macon County, including Valedictorian T. Shay Nicksic and Salutatorian Shawna C. Wix.

Nicksic and Wix both live in the New Harmony community.

The other four Macon County graduates are Roxanna Boles (Red Boiling Springs), Desiree Cothron (Red Boiling Springs), Rebekah Cothron (Lafayette) and Chantel Shrout (Lafayette).

Many family members and friends were present to share the evening’s events recognizing the efforts and accomplishments of the nursing program graduates. This class held the highest grade point averages of any class since the inception of the program at the Hartsville campus.

The graduates will now go on to take the Tennessee Nursing Licensure Exam for practical nursing.

The other graduates – not from Macon County – are Allen Arthur (Portland), Judy Burton (Springfield), Chelsey Carter (Portland), Ashley Civils (Portland), Laura Clark (Watertown), Katie Daniels (Gallatin), Marcia Dawson (Gallatin), Carmelita Green (Hartsville), Tasha Hasting (Lebanon), Jennifer Kroll (Lebanon), Renee Luckey (Hartsville), Angel O’Neal (Westmoreland), Stephanie Trout (Westmoreland), Abigail Turner (Gallatin) and Michelle Wilkinson (Goodlettsville).
