Been so much going on here in Macon County. All ages have something to do for fun and enjoy the time.
At this time, Connie Gann and Golden Oaks residents would like to say hello to Anna Haddock. She don’t get out only when she has to. We just want you to know that we all are proud to have you live here in the village. Maybe sometime you can join us on birthday dinners if you like. Have a great day.
Sorry to learn that Collier Hawkins had passed away. Connie Gann and Golden Oaks residents and Randal Flippin send our sympathy and prayers to the family.
Saturday was a great day here in the village. Started off with me. I went out for breakfast with my friends Evelyn Lancaster, Lois and Dan and son Danny Shaffer enjoyed the time out. We always have a nice visit. Seen some friends also was proud to see. When I came back home hardly no parking place at all. Lot of residents were out also people were here to visit. Then I went over to Walmart to get some shopping done. I was so tired. I saw lots of my friends. So proud to see them. All and all it was a beautiful day. It did rain while I was in Walmart. Some people got rained on. I went out at the garden center as you would know. I seen some pretty flowers I liked. I just went on out. Some flowers here in the village have gone with all this hot weather. I plan on trying to get some of my bad ones out. Hope it will get cool to do the work. I just don’t work long at a time.
Palace Brain Game ... Had to cancel on Friday. All residents were looking forward to those nice ladies Glenda Browning, Linda Sutton and Doris Powers. They always make us smile. Also enjoy the time.
Vera Turner’s guests on Saturday were Janice Chapman, Linda and her friend and Juanita White. Vera always enjoys her family and the mountain woman. Vera still enjoys life.
On Satuday I had this nice phone call from Janis Prock. The report was that her sister Jeane was feeling better. Also Melvin Prock was feeling better. That is good news. It’s great to get good news. We wish them good health. Have a great week.
At this time, 8:48 Saturday night, it’s raining hard here in the village. People that are out of state that have family and friends here the read my column in the Macon County Times, they enjoy reading about people I write about. That is great. Makes me proud.
Today I went over to visit Vera. She said she enjoyed our little bird. She can watch the humming birds from her living room. They pass the time for her. Vera always enjoys the food I take over for her. It doesn’t take much to make her smile. That is worth it all.
Vera said Calvin York was about the same. Calvin one time lived here at Golden Oaks. Calvin moved away at one time then he moved back and enjoyed the time. Now he makes his home over at the Palace in Red Boiling Springs. We miss you and wish you good health. Take care.
At this time Carolyn Bradley has squash just about ready to eat. She asked me to come over to look at them. They were so pretty. Carolyn had beans and potatoes. Also strawberries. She enjoyed having something to pass the time.
If people like and enjoy county things just look across the road here in the village. Those beautiful goats. I look over the way makes me think of time down the farm that was the good ole days. Most all residents were from the county. Work was hard. Everyone enjoyed having time with family. Best of all time with the children. Mama’s stayed at home. That was a happy day. All and all when we leave our homes and move to a place they call the city. Everybody is so blessed for a place called Golden Oaks Village in Lafayette in Macon County. Everyone has to make their place and make the manager have an easy time so to make things work for everybody it takes teamwork.
I guess it’s time to say goodnight. Also have a great week. Wish all the sick will get better soon and back to good health. Pray that all our troops will be home again. All wars can end. Have a great week. Check on your neighbors. Let them know someone cares.
