Macon County High School junior quarterback Dallas Grace has been named Player of the Week for his performance in the season-opener Friday, Aug. 20 at Trousdale County.

Macon Bank & Trust’s Beverly Birdwell presented Grace with the award.

Macon Bank & Trust will honor a player of the week each week for the remainder of the season. The player to be honored is selected by MCHS coach Mark Pemberton.

It’s a well-deserved award for Grace, son of Nathan and Misty Grace.

Grace ran six times for 43 yards. Grace handled punting duties as well and had two punts for 70 yards with a long punt of 38 yards.

Trousdale County beat Macon County 48-27.

Defensively for the Tigers, Maverick Hesson recorded a team-high eight tackles, including five unassisted tackles. Tyler Manning and William Bandy added four total tackles apiece.

Macon County had one tackle for a loss, and it was made by Alex Bilbry (3 yard loss), who finished with three total tackles.
