Dale Morgan Sanders, Sr. - age 65 of Dickson and formerly of Lafayette, TN passed away on Sunday afternoon, August 8, 2010 at Baptist Hospital. Funeral services for Dale Morgan Sanders, Sr. were conducted Wednesday, August 11th, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Patrick Sanders, Aaron Ferrell, Junior Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Robert Dale Sanders, and Jarred Sanders served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery.

He was born on November 22, 1944 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Ted and Dorothy Gulley Sanders.

He married Harriett Lee Sanders in 1967, sharing forty years together and raising four children. You never saw Dale or Harriett, without the other close behind, she preceded him in death on November 17, 2007.

Besides his wife and parents; daughter, Patricia Gail Sanders, sister, Mary Draper, and brother, Jesse Sanders, also preceded him in death.

Dale worked for Spring Industries in Nashville for thirty years, before retiring in 2004.

As a young boy Dale grew up on a farm and enjoyed life in the country. He bought his own farm here in Macon County, so weekends and vacation time was usually spent there. Dale enjoyed raising gardens, fishing, and sitting on the front porch with his family.

Being the father and grandfather that he was, his family’s needs was his priority. Dale will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by; sons, Dale Sanders, Jr.(Trish) of Gallatin, TN, and Darrell W. Sanders of Portland, TN, daughter, Michelle (Raymond) Cox of Dickson, TN, brothers, Sammy Sanders of Scottsville, KY, and J.R. Sanders of Green Grove in Macon County, TN, sister, Marie Martin of Dickson, TN, and ten grandchildren, also survive.
