School director: All county schools open Thursday (as of 6 p.m. today)

For now, all schools in the Macon County School system are scheduled to be open Thursday, according to Director of Schools Dan Hampton.

All schools were closed Wednesday due to heavy flooding throughout Tuesday night and into Wednesday.

Between 3 and 7 inches of rain is expected to fall in Macon County by 2 a.m. on Thursday, according to Macon County Emergency Management Director Keith Scruggs.
