If you don’t have to be in downtown Red Boiling Springs right now, don’t try getting there.

That was the word at 9 a.m. on Wednesday from Jacob Jordan of the RBS Police Department.

“As of right now, if you don’t live downtown or work there, don’t come,” Jordan said of downtown RBS. “There’s a lot of impassable roads downtown that we’ve got shutdown right now.”

Jordan said he had just returned from The Palace about 30 minutes ago (at about 8:30 a.m.) and at that time there was no evacuation taking place. Jordan added that he didn’t “believe that we’ll have to today” but added that could change depending on the rain.

A spokesperson from The Palace told the Times at 9:08 a.m. that there was no evacuation in progress. The Palace is on “standby.”
