Central Elementary
Lindsay O’Hair: I will be the new Physical Education teacher at Central Elementary and I am very excited to start the new school year! I am a recent graduate from Tennessee Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in EXPW and an alumni of MCHS class of 2005. I have been active in sports my whole life and played collegiate level softball until and injury cut my career short. I would love to coach softball in the future, but I love any physical activity and hope to instill that into my students.
I am hard working, organized, and give 100% to whatever task is given to me. I will be getting married next year and look forward to starting a family of my own. I am also blessed with a supportive family and friends. I have future plans of getting my Master’s degree and hope to make a positive impact on my students this year!
Kim Allen: My name is Kim Allen, and I am from Glasgow, KY. I attended Western Kentucky University where I studied Communication Disorders. I will be providing services in speech/language for students at Lafayette Elementary and Central Elementary. I look forward to working with your children during the 2010-11 school year.
Tabitha Centers: I will be one of the new first grade teachers at Fairlane Elementary this year. I’m a 2004 graduate of Macon County High School. and am very excited to be able to work in my hometown. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from East Tennessee State University in May of this year.
My husband Kevin and I were married in October of 2007. We have a beautiful daughter named Jazzlyn Rein who will soon be 13 months old. I look forward to working with my students and parents to make this a great year.
Ashley Willis: I will be teaching 1st grade at Fairlane Elementary this year. I graduated from Macon County High School in 2005. I attended college at Tennessee State University where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2009. I taught in Trousdale County last year. This will be my first year teaching in Macon County.
I have been married for two and a half years. My husband, Richard Willis, is a local tobacco farmer. We own a farm in the Williams community. I have a dog, Chloe, which is 7 1/2 years old and loves to eat watermelon! During my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, and spending time with family. I am very excited about teaching 1st grade this year!
Brandy Shoulders: I am teaching kindergarten at Fairlane Elementary School. I graduated from Macon County High School in 2002 and earned my teaching degree from MTSU in 2008. This will be my third year as an elementary teacher. I taught 1st grade in Trousdale County for two years. I am married to Kyle Shoulders, and we live in Lafayette. I am very excited about the upcoming school year.
Tonya Kemp: I will be teaching First Grade at Fairlane Elementary. I have been a teacher’s assistant for the past ten years at Fairlane.
I have been married to Cary Kemp for 20 years and we have 3 children. My oldest son, Cory, will be a freshman at Tennessee Tech this fall and will be majoring in Nursing. My middle son, Tyler, will be a sophomore at MCHS and my youngest daughter, Caitlyn, will be in eighth grade at MCJHS. I graduated from Tennessee State University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education certified to teach grades K-6.
I have truly enjoyed working with the children in Macon County for the past 10 years and am very excited to be able to be one of the teachers in the county now.
Fairlane Elementary
Kristina Barnfield: I will be the Speech and Language teacher at Fairlane Elementary. I am a recent graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. I am excited about working in Macon County and I look forward to getting to know you and your children.
Lafayette Elementary
Angie King: My name is Angie King. I live in Lafayette with my husband Herman and our two daughters, Kailey and Hannah. I graduated from Tennessee Tech University in December of 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (K-6). Since graduating, I have worked as a substitute teacher and filled two interim positions all in Macon County.
This will be my first full year teaching, and I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade at Lafayette Elementary.
Julie Pullen: My name is Julie Pullen. My family and I have lived in Lafayette for the past ten years. I have been married to Shawn Pullen for fifteen years. We have three rowdy boys together: Chance, Tyler, and Hunter. I have been a substitute for Macon County for five years while getting my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. I graduated from Cumberland University in December 2009. I am very excited to get started with the new school year. I will be working at Lafayette Elementary School in the Special Education Class for 4th and 5th grades.
Macon County High School
Corey Fitzpatrick: I am a 1999 graduate of MCHS. I was born and raised in Macon County by my parents, Bob and Faye Fitzpatrick. After high school, I attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. I graduated from Tech in 2006 with a bachelor’s in Secondary Education/Math. Upon graduating, I began my teaching career in Sumner county teaching math and coaching basketball at Westmoreland High School. After teaching and coaching at WHS for the past 4 years, I decided to come back home to MCHS.
My wife, Shaye Fitzpatrick, myself and our two boys, Miles and Sam, reside in the Sunrise community. We have lived there for 2 years now and are extremely happy to be a part of that community. I look forward to contributing to MCHS, the citizens of Lafayette, and to the entire community itself. I am exited about the opportunity to teach in Macon County, and I look forward to the challenge of improving our educational department for years to come. Thank you, and it is good to be back home.
Tyler Vester: I graduated from MCHS in 2000. After I graduated, I went to Vol State from 2 years and finished by degree at TN Tech University in 2006. I received my degree in Environmental Agriscience and am currently working on my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. While at TN Tech, I met my loving wife Jackie, who is also a teacher at Mt. Juliet High School. We reside in Cookeville TN with one daughter and 2 dogs.
Hobbies: hunting, fishing, golf, occasionally White Pine Christmas Trees.
Bobby Sircy: I will be teaching freshman science this year at Macon County High School. Having the privilege of growing up in Macon County, I am honored to have the opportunity to give back to this community’s future. I am married to Brittani Sircy and have three sons, Alex, Max, and Xavier, who I hope will have as bright a place to grow up in as myself. I graduated from Macon County High School in 2003 and then from Tennessee Tech University in 2009 with a Secondary Education degree with an emphasis on teaching High School Chemistry. I am eager to get started and excited about the upcoming year.
Kristy McClanahan: I am a native of Macon County. I am a 1991 graduate of MCHS and a 2004 graduate of Cumberland University. I will be teaching Spanish I at MCHS. I have been teaching English for five years in Rutherford and Coffee Counties. I am thankful to have the opportunity to come back home and teach at my alma mater.
Monica Birdwell: I am the new physical education teacher at Macon County High School. I graduated from Gordonsville High School in 2003. In 2008, I earned a degree in Exercise Science, Wellness, and Physical Education from Tennessee Tech University. My goal is to educate students and teach them how to make good, healthy fitness choices. As a result of these choices, our students will live long, productive, and healthy lives. I am excited about the upcoming school year, and I am proud to be a part of the team at Macon County High School!
Elizabeth Baehne: I am from Portland, Tennessee, and I graduated from Portland High School in 2004. I graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology. I am now a certified teacher in Family and Consumer Science and Food Management and Production. I am excited about my first year at Macon County High School and teaching Family and Consumer Science classes.
Adam Shaw: I am a 2006 graduate of MCHS. I am also a 2010 graduate of Tennessee Tech with a degree in Exercise Science. I am the son of Clydette and the late Jimmy Shaw. I will be teaching wellness at MCHS and coaching high school football as well. I am very excited to be working here in my home town.
Chelsea Clark: I will be teaching 9th and 10th grade English and coaching the softball team this year at MCHS. I am a 2006 graduate of MCHS and a 2010 graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. My childhood was spent in the Haysville community where I still reside. I have a son named Colton, and my parents are Eddie and Lisa Blankenship. My student teaching was completed at RBSHS under Tammy Marlow and Cindy Porter who helped me grasp what being a teacher truly means (thank you). It has always been my dream to return to my alma mater to teach and coach softball, and I am very thankful that this opportunity has arisen. I am very excite to teach our county’s youth and aid them in becoming responsible citizens.
Amanda Bryant: I met my husband Cliff in the 9th grade. I married my high school sweetheart Christmas of 1997. We have 2 boys Siah who is in the 3rd grade and Cayden is in the 1st grade. We reside in Wilson County.
Although I was proud to work for my county’s fire and ambulance service, my passion has always been in art. I came from a Graphic Design background when I chose to go back to school for Art Education.
I graduated this May from Middle Tennessee State University with my Bachelor’s of Science degree. I have a major in Liberal Studies with a minor in art. This summer I started working toward my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Angela Walker: I am married to Heath Walker. We have an 11 month old son, Memphis. My husband is from Macon County, and we have lived in Lafayette for the past ten years. I am a 2000 graduate of Trousdale County High School. I am a 2009 graduate of Tennessee State University. I am currently seeking a Masters in Special Education from Tennessee Technological University. I will be teaching Sped science and social studies at Macon County High School. This is my very first year teaching, and I look forward to an exciting year. Go Tigers!!!!
Sonya Wilson: I will be teaching Personal Finance and Keyboarding at Macon County High School this year. This is my first year teaching, and I am very excited to begin my teaching career. I am a 2001 graduate of Macon County High School. I graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University in May of 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing Education.
I have been married to Nathan Wilson for eight years. Nathan teaches Geometry at Macon County High School and is the head football coach at Macon County Junior High. We have two children, Logan, who is five, and Katie, who is three. Logan will begin Kindergarten this year at Fairlane.
Brittny Bowers: My parents are Kevin and Shari Bowers. I am teaching Physical Education, Health and Wellness and Macon County High School. I am the Head Volleyball Coach for Macon County High School. I am a May 2010 graduate of Tennessee Technological University where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education and Wellness. I am also a 2006 graduate of Macon County High School. I am very excited about my first year teaching and coaching.
Macon County Junior High
Michael Brown-Social Studies, Football Coach: I was born in Atlanta, Ga. and graduated from Cross Keys High School in 1980. I attended Tennessee Tech University on a football scholarship. After graduating from Tech, I went on to teach and coach at several Tennessee schools. Before coming to Macon County, I was at West Laurens High School in Dublin, Georgia. I am single, and I am the proud owner of eight dogs including: Sugar, Raider, Ray, Pistol, Lucky, Blue, Biscuit, and Tater.
Kim Sutton: My name is Kim Sutton, and I’ll be teaching CDC at MCJH. I just recently graduated from TTU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies, so this will be my first year teaching. I grew up in Red Boiling Springs and graduated from RBSHS in 2006. My parents are Jeff and Linda Sutton and Rita and Harold Hewitt, and I have a twin brother, Matt. I’m looking forward to a year filled with excitement!
Stacy Hix: Hello, my name is Stacy Hix. I am the new Special Education English teacher at Macon County Junior High School. I was born and raised in Carthage, TN and graduated from Smith County High School in 2001. I have been married to James Hix for five years. He is a Macon County native and works with Hix Construction as a home builder. We live in Greenfield subdivision with our three cats and enjoy spending time with our nieces and nephews.
In May, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in Child Development and Learning. I am currently seeking my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Tennessee Technological University. This is my very first year teaching, and I am looking forward to spending it at the Junior High School.
Rhonda Cothron: My name is Rhonda Cothron, and I will be teaching at Macon County Junior High this year. I have lived in Macon County my whole life. I am married to Craig Cothron, and we have three children: Callie, Katelyn, and Colin.
I began my teaching career many years ago in Macon County. After teaching several years in other counties, I am returning home. I am happy to be teaching back home, and I look forward to a great school year.
Red Boiling Springs Elementary
Lindsey Cowan: Hello, my name is Lindsey Cowan and I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at Red Boiling Springs Elementary. I am married to Josh Cowan, and we have a one year old boy, Kaden. I graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (K-6). Last year I taught Kindergarten at Celina K-8 in Clay County.
Meredith Saltz: Hello, my name is Meredith Saltz, and I will be providing speech and language services for Macon County Junior High, Macon County High School, and Red Boiling Springs. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with my B.S. in May 2009 and will receive my M.S. in December 2010. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with your children this year.
Red Boiling Springs High School
Kerri Huffines: My name is Kerri Huffines. I am a 2008 graduate of MTSU. I am married to Robby Huffines. We have a 2 year old son, Brody. I will be teaching at Red Boiling Springs High School where I will also be coaching the Jr. High girls’ basketball team and assisting the high school girls’ basketball team.
Matt Shouse: Hello, my name is Matt Shouse, and I will be teaching science and social studies at Red Boiling Springs High School. I graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education. Professionally, I am entering my fifth year teaching, the last three were spent at Satterfield Middle School in Hartsville. My wife, Ashley, and I have one child, a son named Jonah.
Westside Elementary
Brittani Sircy: My name is Brittani Sircy. I will be teaching 2nd grade at Westside Elementary this year. I graduated from Macon County High School in 2005 and then graduated from Tennessee Tech University in May of 2009. I taught 4th grade in Smith County last year. I am married to Bobby Sircy and we have three boys. Alexander is 4 years old, Maxamillion is 3 years old, and Xavier is 6 months. I attended Westside as a child and am looking forward to teaching there.
