Wendell Jones was appointed in August 2009 to fill the County Commission District 17 seat.

Since then, Jones hasn't missed a single commission meeting.

"I take this position very seriously," Jones previously stated.

Voters on Thursday, Aug. 5, gave Jones the chance to keep his meeting streak alive.

A lifelong Macon County resident, Jones defeated challengers Dewayne Mee and Tommy Napier in the County General Election.

Jones received 168 votes to top Mee (11 votes) and Napier (128 votes).

Jones and wife Jennifer have two daughters, Kim Fitzgerald and Ashley Towe. Jones' father, Malon Jones, lives in the western part of Macon County.
