Helen Hesson knows District 16 like the back of her hand, and for good reason.

A lifelong resident of Macon County, Hesson has lived in the district for the last 40 years.

And in the County General Election on Thursday, Aug. 5, voters gave her the green light to represent them on the County Commission for another four-year term.

The incumbent Hesson beat challenger Bruce Dyer 258-177.

The widow of the late Johnny Hesson, Helen Hesson has worked in the Macon County School System for the last 35 years.
