If there's an issue Macon County commissioners need to investigate, incoming commissioner Kenneth Witte could be the go-to-guy.

He's a skilled investigator.

The former Florida law enforcement official was elected Thursday, Aug. 5, to fill the District 3 seat currently held by Vernon Biggs.

Biggs did not seek reelection.

In the race to replace him, Witte beat Gary Worrell Jr. 96-79 in the County General Election.

Witte has owned his residence in Macon County since June 2006. He lives with his wife and children.

Prior to arriving here, Witte worked in law enforcement for 28 years. He worked his way up from road patrol officer, through the different units as a detective working with the Street Crimes Unit, General Investigation Unit, Burglary Unit and Gang Unit.

For the last 15 years of his law enforcement career, Witte was president of the multi-agency Gang Task Force of Broward County, Fla.

"I pride myself on my honesty, integrity and diligence to stand up and do the right thing for those in need," Witte previously stated.
