An inmate from the Macon County Jail, Logan Smith, spent the day talking to students in a Macon County Jr. High School classroom on Monday. He told of his experiences dropping into drug and alcohol addiction as a Freshman in High School, which led to years spent manufacturing and selling drugs, over ten DUIs, multiple violent altercations, and a total of 33 years sentenced prison time. He warned the teens against early drug use, and urged them to talk to an adult if they had any problems.

Present were Sheriff Mark Gammons and Chief Deputy Bryon Satterfield, as well as Correctional Officer Josh Meador.
