Macon County High junior Hayden Shockley shot 102 in the H & T Carpet Invitational.

HENDERSONVILLE -- The Macon County High girls golf team placed ninth in Hendersonville's H & T Carpet Invitational, which was held on Aug. 27 at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club.

The Tigerettes finished 35 strokes back of first-place Station Camp, which was five strokes better than second-place Clarksville.

Station Camp freshman Lynn Lim was the low medalist, shooting 68.

Sophomore Claire Fogg shot 70, helping Mt. Juliet place third.

The Macon County boys placed 10th, finishing 51 strokes back of first-place Science Hill.

Science Hill was five shots better than second-place Hendersonville. Science Hill placed fifth in the state's large division last season, while Hendersonville was the state runner-up.

Senior Landon Polston led the Tigers with a round of 82.

Junior Jackson Skeen -- a University of Tennessee commitment -- shot 75 to lead Science Hill.

Hendersonville junior Logan Spurrier -- a Middle Tennessee State University commitment -- shot 73 to earn medalist honors.

Spurrier and Skeen were among a 10-way tie for 17th place at the state tournament last season.
