The Red Boiling Springs High School volleyball squad took visiting Jackson County to the wire but suffered 25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 16-25, 15-11 loss last Thursday evening.

Lady Bulldog senior Allison Deckard and sophomore Jasmine Pruitte combined for seven kills in the second game, and junior Harlee Birdwell provided two kills in game two as well. RBS also served up five aces in the second game, two of which came from senior Chloe Kramer, in evening in the match.

Deckard had three kills and two aces in the fourth game as the Lady Bulldogs battled back to retie the match, and Pruitte and sophomore Liliano Hipolito provided two kills each in game four. Junior Emma Rainey served up three aces in the third game, with classmate Haley Davis providing two as well.

Deckard had three more kills in the fifth game, and Kramer produced two aces. However, it wasn't enough as the Lady Blue Devils escaped with the win.

Deckard finished the match with a team-high 12 kills, four aces and four digs, and Pruitte had seven kills.

Kramer and Rainey led the team with five aces each, and Davis served up four aces, had 28 assists and also had five digs. Rainey - who serves as the team's setter, along with Davis - also had 11 assists.

RBS fell to 1-3 overall and to 1-3 in District 7-A play.

• The Lady Bulldogs dropped a 25-12, 25-12, 23-25, 25-14 contest to visiting Gordonsville on Aug. 21.

Pruitte provided three kills during the third game, and Deckard served up a pair of aces in game three.

However, RBS wasn't able to maintain that momentum as the Tigerettes closed out the match.

Deckard finished with a team-best seven kills, and she also had two digs.

Kramer served up three aces, with Davis and Rainey producing two each.

Davis provided nine assists, and Rainey finished with six assists.
