Macon County Junior High's Matthew Evans placed eighth in the junior high boys division.

Macon County Junior High eighth-grader Isaac Kirby finished as the runner-up as the Tigers placed sixth in Saturday's Donna S. Tucker Memorial Middle School Invitational, which was held at Macon County High School.

Kirby finished 26 seconds behind Overton County eighth-grader Parker Linder, posting a time of 12:01.70.

Macon County eighth-grader Matthew Evans also notched a top-10 finish, placing eighth in a time of 12:59.90.

West Wilson won the boys race with 45 points, 26 points better than second-place Ellis.

The Macon County Junior High girls placed third with 86 points, behind first-place Cookeville (29) and Ellis (52).

Seventh-grader Samantha Watson (14:22.30) and sixth-grader Laykin Ellis (14:32.90) placed fifth and seventh, respectively, to lead the Tigerettes.

Cookeville Middle School eighth-grader Emily Coonce won the race in a time of 13:52.50, less than four seconds in front of seventh-grade teammate Gabriella Dawson.

Macon County Elementary fourth-grader Caden Presley won the boys elementary division in a time of 6:15.30, five seconds better than Westmoreland Elementary fifth-grader Grayson Walker.

Macon County third-graders Aidan Barlow (6:41.10) and Luke McCall (6:45.20) placed third and fourth, respectively.

Macon County Elementary fourth-graders Khloe Redfield (7:42.20), Allie Katie Austin (7:43) and Lucye Clair Polston (7:45.10) placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the elementary girls race.

Westmoreland Elementary fourth-grader Gintre Freeman won that race in a time of 7:09.30, nine seconds better than Overton County second-grader Audrey Clark.

Only two teams competed in the boys and girls elementary divisions, with the Macon County boys winning and the Westmoreland girls claiming first place.
